Probe System Firewall

This information in this document describes a solution using the NETGEAR ProSafe FVS336GV2 Firewall to enable secure operation of Windows XP-based probe system controllers beyond the expiration of Microsoft security updates (April 8th, 2014). Check with your corporate IT department to determine if this method is approved for Windows XP-based controller operation within your corporate network. An alternative VLAN configuration with Access Control Lists is also described.
