High Availability Services Program Delivers up to 99 Percent Uptime at Wafer Probe
LIVERMORE, Calif. – Oct. 9, 2003 – FormFactor, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORM), a leading provider of advanced wafer probe cards, today announced the High Availability Services (HAS) Program to help semiconductor manufacturers meet critical production output targets. The company’s new menu of advanced support services will improve productive time in the test cell by offering faster replacement and repair turnaround times through FormFactor’s global network of service centers.
Today’s production throughput requirements are driving semiconductor manufacturers to optimize every aspect of the test process to reduce unproductive test cell downtime. In the highly competitive DRAM and Flash memory markets, FormFactor’s cost of test models indicate that the loss of one percent of test cell availability can result in up to $2 million in revenue shipments lost per year per test head.
FormFactor’s new HAS Program provides up to 99 percent probe card uptime via fast probe component or probe card replacement and repair service. The program’s comprehensive menu of options includes replacement service in less than 24 hours, and probe card repair lead times as short as four days. These optional service levels enable customers to tailor HAS to create a unique combination of services appropriate for their specific production environment. The new service solutions augment FormFactor’s reputation for highly reliable products, and enable manufacturers to continue to reduce the already low total cost of ownership delivered by FormFactor products.
