The America Invents Act was signed into law on September 16, 2011 effectively allowing the immediate use of a website to be marked on or near a product in place of a list of patents. This ‘virtual’ resource for patent numbers and expiration dates can now be updated regularly, and will help manufacturing companies avoid false marking.
