We achieved our first 10 BEST Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment award with four VLSIresearch stars. Customers also named FormFactor #1 as a Supplier of Test Connectivity Systems, a category that is specific to probe cards, test sockets, and device interface boards. FormFactor achieved its highest ratings in the categories of “Partnering” and “Technical Leadership” and was also recognized as 2016 Top Supplier of Semiconductor Probe Cards Worldwide in a report released by VLSIresearch in April of this year.

VLSIresearch forecasts the advanced probe card market will grow at 6.7% CAGR to reach $1.5 billion by 2021. According to their survey, the fastest growing sub-segment in this sector is MEMS fabricated probe cards growing at 8.9% CAGR, where FormFactor achieved a commanding market share of 40%. VLSIresearch described this upward trend as driven by migration to higher parallelism testing to reduce test cost, and the need for finer pitches, to enable advanced packaging technologies such as copper pillar bumping and 2.5D/3D integrated circuit package test.
