On September 17, FormFactor welcomed 37 high school students from the Dublin Partners in Education Program for a field trip at our Livermore location. The visit was arranged as part of an elective STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program at Dublin High School.

Students began their morning with a welcome from CEO Mike Slessor, who shared his personal journey in STEM and explained the semiconductor industry and FormFactor’s role within it. Mike encouraged them to stay curious and consider careers in STEM:

This is a very small snapshot into the opportunities across not just the semiconductor industry, but the broader technology industry,” he said. “You’ve got the whole world in front of you. Think about what you’re passionate about, what you’re interested in, and where you can make an imprint on the world. And you will make an imprint on the world.

The students toured FormFactor’s site, met engineers and manufacturing teams, and saw how FormFactor’s precision tools help test the chips inside the devices we use every day. They got an up-close look at actual components and materials used in semiconductor testing and wafer manufacturing alongside FormFactor employees and were able to ask questions and learn about different career paths in engineering and manufacturing.
